John Hollinger: The Boston Celtics have already clinched a playoff berth

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Apparently, it is now statistically impossible for the Boston Celtics to miss a playoff spot.  According to John Hollinger, whose stats admittedly once said Brandan Wright was the 6th-most productive power forward in basketball, the C's can already book a postseason berth.  (As you can see with Hollinger's chart, enhanced by my own personal graphic-design touches... aka high-tech chicken-scratch.) (h/t CelticsBlog Twitter account):

I know it's only 20 games into the season, but pop the bubbly.  It's time for a champagne shower, for sure.  After all, the Celtics just clinched the playoffs.

Can't we just cancel the rest of the season and make sure nobody gets hurt?
