Kevin Garnett: C's 'just starting to improve'

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

The Celtics are streaking.  No, not through the quad and to the gymnasium... in the win column.  They've won 11 straight games and 8 on the road.

But Kevin Garnett doesn't think they're anything close to a finished product.

Via Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald:
“Now we’ve got great additions to this team - not good additions, great additions. Rasheed (Wallace), Quis (Marquis Daniels) and our young guys are getting better. We’re just starting to improve. It’s still December.

“We just had to figure it out, and we still do. We can still get a lot better. If you’ve got problems, man, that means you made them. The only people that can fix them are the ones that made them.”
I hope he's right.  One thing to improve is first-quarter defense.  Lately, it seems like the Celtics have gotten scorched in every first quarter before settling down and getting back to their defensive principles.  Fortunately for the Celts, they've also had some monster first quarters themselves and have been playing well enough to win every game they've played for a long time.

But there are certainly things to work on.  (*cough* *cough* REBOUNDING! *cough* *cough*)
